Skills London 2008 is the UK’s biggest careers event. Packed with have-a-go, interactive, exciting skills demonstrations and expert careers information.
Whatever career you’re interested in, there will be something for you at Skills London 2008 from aerospace engineer to zoologist, chef to therapist, midwife to financial advisor.

Thursday 20 and Friday 21 November, between 9.30am – 3.00pm
Saturday 22 November, between 10.00am – 4.00pm.
How?
When you arrive at Skills London 2008, you’ll need to find your own way around, so a bit of planning and preparation means you can target what you want to see.
Have a Plan - start thinking about who you want to meet and what questions you want to ask. Check out the exhibitor list to find out who’s there.
Don’t be afraid – everyone there wants to meet you and chat about careers and opportunities.
Get involved – this is your chance to have a go and try out your future career.
Don’t just collect bags and brochures and leave them to rot in your room, share the information with parents and friends and you might find they can help you get where you want to be.

Coming to an event can seem like a just a day out, but Skills London 2008 is packed full of exciting and interactive stands. Your future matters so find out what your options are, and if you meet a company you like - tell them, and if you’re interested - ask questions.
Future help

CHOICE is a one-stop resource for young Londoners to satisfy all their course and career needs. Whether it’s help with putting together a CV, working out the best route to get your dream job, or finding out what the best courses on offer are in your area, our experienced Advisors will be on hand at Skills London 2008 to show you how the site works. You don’t know if you don’t ask
Some good questions to ask are:- How can I break into this industry? Are there different routes?
- I am good at these subjects (list them), what job would suit me?
- What skills and qualifications do I need for different jobs?
- I want to do A Levels, then go to university, what course would be best for me?
- I don’t want to go to college but still want to get a qualification, what are my options?
- I want a practical job where do I get training?
- How much would I earn when I’m training?
- Will I get a job at the end of my training?
- How much would I earn when I’m qualified?
- Where could I be in ten years time?
Last but not least
We want you to enjoy your visit, so please don’t act in a way that reflects badly on your school or college.
We’re sure no one will let themselves down, but abusive or unacceptable behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated and if observed or reported you will be asked to leave.

- The competition winners will be drawn on Monday 1 December and notified by telephone.
- Prospects will keep your contact data confidential and will not release it to any other parties.
- In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to a Competition, the decision of Prospects shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
- Employees of Prospects or any company involved in organising, marketing or selling Skills London 2008 or any such person’s subsidiary or associated companies, agents or members of their families or households, are not eligible to enter the Competition.
- By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete. Prospects reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.
- The address you provide with your competition entry will be used to send any prizes so please make sure this is correct. Only UK residents are eligible.
- Prospects reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the Rules.
